Overview
Feed Analyzer is a browser extension that lets you sort, filter, analyze, and export public social media profile data. We take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and what we don't do.
What We Collect
We collect the minimum data necessary to operate the service:
- Email address — Used solely for account identification, login, and subscription management.
- Subscription status — Whether you are on the Free or Pro tier, synced with our payment provider.
- Authentication tokens — Temporary session tokens stored locally in your browser extension storage to keep you signed in.
That's it. We do not collect names, phone numbers, addresses, or any other personal information.
How the Extension Works
The core functionality of Feed Analyzer — sorting, filtering, analyzing, and exporting social media data — runs entirely in your browser. No post data, engagement metrics, captions, or media files are ever sent to our servers.
The extension uses live API interception to capture engagement data from platform APIs directly in your browser's JavaScript context. This data is processed locally and never leaves your machine.
Browser Permissions
Feed Analyzer requests the following minimal permissions:
- activeTab — To detect when you are on a supported profile page.
- scripting — To inject the sorting and export functionality into the page.
- storage — To store your login session and subscription status locally so you stay signed in between browser sessions.
Host permissions are limited to instagram.com and tiktok.com only. The extension is not active on any other websites and has zero access to your browsing data outside these domains.
What We Don't Do
- We do not collect, store, or transmit your social media data.
- We do not use cookies or third-party analytics trackers.
- We do not sell, share, or rent any personal information.
- We do not access your browsing history or activity on other sites.
- We do not perform actions on your behalf on any social media platform.
Data Storage
Your account data is stored as follows:
- Extension storage (local) — Your login session tokens and cached subscription status are stored in your browser's extension storage. This data never leaves your machine.
- Session storage (temporary, per-page) — Video download URLs and sort parameters are held temporarily in the page's session storage and cleared after use.
- Server-side — Your email address and subscription status are stored securely via our backend provider (Supabase). We do not store passwords — authentication uses one-time login codes sent to your email.
Third-Party Services
- Supabase— Provides authentication (email-based login), database storage, and serverless functions. Your email and subscription data are processed through Supabase's infrastructure.
- Paddle— Acts as our Merchant of Record, handling payment processing, tax calculation, and invoicing. Paddle processes your payment information directly — we never see or store your credit card details. Paddle's own privacy policy applies to payment data.
- Resend — Delivers transactional emails such as login codes and account-related notifications.
We do not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. No Google Analytics, no cookies, no pixel trackers.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of Feed Analyzer after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
